OLD SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico ⏤ Old San Juan used to be an artistic mecca for local writers, poets, painters and crafters. But recently, because of tax breaks offered to high net-worth U.S. citizens, off-island real estate investors have bought many of the buildings, most of them turned into Airbnbs, forcing out creatives who can’t afford the rent. This mini documentary examines the devastating effects this had on artists who had no choice but to leave their beloved community.
